This morning I had a fun surprise. If you live in a neighborhood with trees and squirrels, have you noticed the branches with live leaves on them just under a tree?

As Allister and I are walking home approaching an intersection, we’re walking under a group of large leafy trees. I’m looking ahead at the street to see if there will be lots of traffic and WHAM! Right in front of me is a large branch with about 10 big green leaves at the base of a large pole. Curious at what caused the branch to fall, I look up and at the top of the pole is a bunch of leaves just sitting there, ever so slightly moving. A minute later and I realize there is a squirrel sitting up there sorting leaves.

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. It reminded me of Santa’s elves putting toys together for little kids. This guy was just using large green leaves, no doubt to build a nest.

Simple joys.
