This morning as I walked my normal route, I noticed a tree. An old tree. There are fewer and fewer of them these days. The drought has taken many of them and the tree grinders are always gnawing away at some tree in the neighborhood it seems.
This old tree has an interesting twist to the trunk that I’ve noticed before as I move by quickly, but haven’t spent much time thinking about it. Today as I walked past I wondered about all the activities it has seen over its lifetime. Arguments, birthday celebrations, generations of squirrel families and many things I’m sure I can’t even imagine.
It made me wonder about where we begin and where we end. What an endless question. For me, just live. That’s what I’m here for…
