Why did Peter and I create the Worry Buster?
Because we’ve met many people over the years who are worried about something. We wanted to develop a useful tool to help others begin to wean themselves from worry.
I grew up thinking I had a ‘worry gene’ since my grandmother and mother always worried. I remember chuckling with my sister as we grew up about how Grandma and Mom were always worrying about something. It was a way of life for them and became a way of life for me.
Later on, I wondered about the whole idea of worry. What was the point of worrying? It was always present in my life, but I could find absolutely no value or benefit from worrying. I never could find a benefit from the many things I worried about. I thought about this for several years.
It was after all the thinking about worry that I started to recognize I worried so much. I learned that worrying was supposed to somehow make things work out better!
Enter the Worry Buster. Every day we make a choice about what we want to spend time thinking about. How often do we consciously make the choice to worry? Usually, it just materializes and it’s not until we’re worried that we realize we chose to worry.
We worry because we want to change something and think we can’t. If we think we can’t change something, we feel powerless. We worry when we are powerless. Well, we can bust up the worry with the Worry Buster.
You can download the Worry Buster by signing up for our weekly newsletter.
When you use the Worry Buster, you stop and take time to evaluate what’s causing you to be worried. The tool helps you take simple steps to move forward and become powerful or recognize you’re satisfied with where you are.
Let us know how it works for you.
The worry buster is simplistic yet helpful tool that helped me re-evaluate and re-prioritize what I considered important things in my life. I was first introduced to this tool during the later stages of my PhD. Needless to say, I was going through a very stressful period. It was during this time that I actually lost all of my dissertation due to an USB malfunction. Normally in these situations, me “freaking out” would be an understatement. However, using the tools I gained from Worry Buster I let go and let God take care of it. Everything worked out and from that situation I’ve become a believer in the tool. I’ve since incorporated this mindset shift into my daily life and I’ve been told by my inner circle that I’m a much happier and enjoyable person.
Venecia, letting go is so easy to say and can be difficult to do. Thank you for sharing.
