I haven’t done this for over a year.
Spring in Colorado is different from most places. It looks spectacular outside with clear skies, but when you step out the door it may be hot and dry, freezing cold or any number of possibilities, but rarely is it calm. In fact, I have an image in my head of a snickering cloud in the distance that watches the shocked facial expressions of people as they step outside.
Today I went with my mother on her early walk around the park before the sun rose above the horizon and started warming the air. I’m a sea level creature these days so I can feel the altitude as I walk up a short grade. I’ve known this for a number of years, but this year it is particularly noticeable. I’m riding my bike out in California, but here in Colorado I’m just walking around the park and getting about the same amount of exercise. Ha!
On the brisk walk this morning in a different place, I’m so happy to be healthy.
