What a wild year it has been for the whole world.

The U.S. isn’t the country it was in the past with the Trump administration and other countries acting and reacting in ways they haven’t before.

Sexual harassment is now being recognized for the insidious workplace issue it is, and people everywhere are questioning their past actions as well as how to act going forward.

These events have created a very dynamic environment to step back and question everything you believed or thought you believed.

Contrary to how messy everything feels, this is just the kind of environment that produces truly innovative and game-changing ways of thinking.

ENTREPRENEURIAL THINKING CAN LEAD THE WAY

Budding entrepreneurs of all stripes can look at their industries, businesses or jobs to begin to see the cracks in how things get done and think about how they could be changed for the better. They can start to legitimately question the ‘way it’s always been done’ to suggest new and exciting ways to improve since so much of what we’ve done before is now in flux. No longer is the old guard standing in the way of meaningful change. If it’s still there, it’s being questioned by more people, and the walls they’ve erected are not as strong as they once were.

THAT’S FOR ENTREPRENEURS, BUT WHAT ABOUT ME?

How can you learn from entrepreneurial thinking? If you take the time to really reconsider your life, just like an entrepreneur needs to continually evaluate and reevaluate the industry it’s disrupting, you can make change for yourself. Mental discipline with creative thinking is how entrepreneurs survive. Roadblocks are always going to appear from nowhere. If you want to change your life, it requires you to think differently.

STEP 1 – Consider what you want for yourself. If something isn’t working for you, change it. If you want something different, decide what needs to be altered to get it.

STEP 2 – Question your thought patterns. Are they limiting how you look at the world? Are they limiting how you can see possible solutions to problems that have seemed impossible to solve in the past?

Nothing drives this point home like thinking about the solution you wish you could have and stepping back to consider how you would achieve it.

STEP 3 – Consider the limiting beliefs you have that automatically pop up to tell you why you could never achieve it. Not enough money, not enough time, etc. and the list goes on.

STEP 4 – WrIte down all those limiting beliefs and set them aside and then think of how you would achieve your ideal solution without the beliefs getting in your way. TA-DA!! Now you can make progress.

STEP 5 – Imagine you have all the time, money and resources to achieve your desired solution. How much fun can you have without any limiting beliefs about resources?

Make it a daily practice taking just a few minutes each day to dream about what you want.

This is how you begin to rewire your life.
