What’s Love Got To Do With It?
Everything!!!
When you get right down to it, love is everything.
What would make you happy? Getting what you love of course!
When are you most productive? When you’re doing what you love!
When do you have the biggest smile on your face? When you are with someone you love.
Then why do you spend so much time and energy doing things you don’t love?
Why do you strive for money or safety or approval? Are any of those more powerful or attractive than love?
How can you live a life of love? What do you have to give up? I don’t think you have to give up anything. You just have to shift your priorities. The reason you focus on money, safety, and approval is because you are often driven by fear.
Addressing our fears seems more important than fostering what we love. We assume that love will always be there and we can get to it one day. But fear is urgent and must be dealt with now.
It’s easy to say, and very difficult to do, but shifting your focus away from what you don’t want (your fears) towards what you do want (your loves) is what will bring you more joy.
Making the shift simply requires you to make tiny choices in your thinking. When you find yourself making choices, place more emphasis on what you want rather than what you fear.
The other day, I was talking to a friend and they said, “Every time I come into this store, I get a rude salesperson.”
I thought to myself, why would you set yourself up like that? Why would you stack the salespeople against you before you even walk into the store?
But, we do it all the time. We make choices in our thinking about what we DON’T want to happen. We fail to take a moment to think about the situation and explore what we WANT to happen. Instead, we default to fear-based thinking of what we are afraid could happen, even if the likelihood is so minuscule.
Our challenge to you is to take one small annoyance you have and think about the different ways you think about it. Is there a way you can shift your perspective so it is either no longer an issue, or it becomes something you enjoy?
This is how you start taking the tiny steps to shift your thinking towards what you love.
!!!!! Thanks
