Should You Stay Informed?
Everything you can see is what has already happened. When you watch or read the news, you are reliving the past.
Knowing what is going on can be educational or it can become overwhelming if you let it.
What does it mean to you to know what is happening in another country, another state, another town, or in someone else’s house? Are you going to do something about it? Are you going to influence it or just passively let it influence you? Are you worried that it will happen to you or your town, or your country?
Instead, try to watch and read more of what you want for yourself. Pay attention to where you want to go, not where others have already been.
We have access to so much information on the computer, the TV, and our friends and family. Drama is enticing and entertaining. If you are not seeing what you want, you might have to get up and leave or turn off the TV or computer.
Every moment of every day, you can choose where to spend your energy and focus.
Do you want to spend your energy on what you want or what others have done?
Thank you, Peter, for the post and thoughtful, challenging questions! I appreciate reading these posts and gently encouragement for us to choose well.
It is our pleasure.
