Fear of … Fear?!
Do you go to bed afraid of what might happen?
As you go throughout your day, do you see proof of all the evil in the world?
Do you know what it is like to wake up in the morning and fear that bad things are coming your way?
As you slowly open your eyes, do you feel like it will be another day, just like yesterday- another day filled with irrefutable evidence that bad things happen to good people? People just like you and those you care about.
What can you do about it?
You’ve been fighting this negative, fearful energy for so long. You’ve tirelessly struggled against the more organized and better-funded opposition. They have all kinds of resources behind them. The enemy has the media, the law, big businesses, big banks, and is twisting the system in its favor so they can suppress everyone.
How do you stand a chance?
Who exactly is the enemy? Sure, there are plenty of individuals to choose from, but they change every day, every week, or every year. This month it’s the coronavirus and not that long ago there was someone or something else.
Just who or what is the real enemy? Is fear the thing itself?
As President Franklin D. Roosevelt famously said as he was helping Americans dig out from the grip of the Great Depression in 1933:
“So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is…fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory.”
So… what is fear?
Fear is simply an emotion. A feeling directed toward someone or something that we feel deserves it. This someone or something can be real or imagined. Nowadays, it seems more likely to be made up.
Since it’s just an emotion, can we choose how much of it we feel? Absolutely!
It’s not easy, especially if you’ve been focused on noticing evidence in your daily life to justify the fear. However, it is something you can work on, and YCC is one of many resources that can help you begin to move away from the fear.
Every day you get to choose how much longer you want to live with fear. How long do you want to keep it with you? It’s a choice you get to make throughout each day.
And, believe us when we tell you that life is much more pleasant with less fear in it.
