Connections, Do You Need New Ones?
When I think about all the adventures or misadventures we’ve had, they are all impacted by the connections we’ve made with others. Along the way you can choose who those people are.
Making connections with new and different people allows you to see opportunities that may lead to something new and different. They may help you learn something new or simply shift your perspective on a mundane subject. Sometimes it’s even magical when you consider a subject rather boring or not interesting, only to find something really special about that topic because someone helped you to see it in a new way.
Today that’s where Peter and I find ourselves in our new community. We are learning so much about how our town has changed in the time we’ve been gone. Yes, several decades is a long time, but it’s exciting to see how the place has moved forward from where it was. Lots of new faces and places have been transformed into new, interesting ones.
Just the other day I had coffee with someone new and we were sharing the interesting connections we’ve had starting businesses. It was a fun and engaging way to bond over common challenges we’ve had. We connected with a couple of good tummy laughs!
If you find yourself in a place that doesn’t speak to you, maybe it’s time to make new connections. It doesn’t require a physical move, although that will definitely make things different, it does require you to consider what kinds of changes you would like to see in your life and then go after them.
Once again, you can choose, what you want in your life if you pay attention to what you want! Making new connections is a great way to start that new journey.
