Is There a Cause and Effect?

We live in a society that embraces cause and effect. You work, you get paid. If you commit a crime, you go to jail.

We don’t need something to happen in order for something else to happen. There is no cause and effect.

It seems to be the case because we observe it, but that does not necessarily make it so. Our mind is superb at connecting dots, even dots that don’t exist or appear to exist.

We anticipate the effect, so it manifests. We see the effect, and then assume that the cause is what happened beforehand.
